Florence | March 2016

Can't really say that I wasn't posting for a while cause not much was happening; hell lots of things have happened, so, I have to admit, it was just me being too laze. Anyway, the disturbing trend of laziness was partly a reason why this Tuesday I went on a pretty spontaneous trip to Florence.

There were other reasons too: firstly, I have a friend living there for the last three years, who didn't sound like she would take another one of my "well, I will prbobaly come next year, deal?"; then, weather forecast in Florence looked quite a bit better than mine in Pavia; after all, I have bought tickets before the trip (for Italian high-speed trains titled "Frecciarossa") and, expensive and non-refundable as they were, I didn't have much choice as to whether to be lazy or not.

And so I went there, had the best breakfasts there, enjoyed the sun there, learnt some about Florentine history and much more - about Florentine fashion world (having a local guide is priceless, having a local guide who is studying in the European leading institute of fashion design and marketing - is priceless and highly peculiar too). Overall, Florence is beautiful (but people are more beautiful still); coffee there is really expensive (especially when you somehow end up drinking it in Roberto Cavalli's cafe); Ponte Veccio got me all disappointed (I was entertaining romantic notion of people still living in those tiny houses); I will totally come back too (the next time when I will master the courage of spending a fortune on Frecciarossa though).
